Exeter theatres include The Phoenix and The Corn Exchange, with a regular programme of comedy, live music and dance. Northernhay Gardens have special events, while the impressive Rougemont Gardens are situated nearby with the remains of a Norman castle. Finally, Dartmoor National Park lies to the west, probably best explored from the town of Okehampton.
