Cathedrals, caves and cider

With car hire organised, many other attractions are within easy reach - Bristol’s science centre, or the affordable Wild Place project, designed to make learning about endangered species fun for young children. Bristol Zoo also has reptile house and gorillas to see, along with a butterfly forest and attractive gardens. A short drive in your hire car will take you to the Cheddar Gorge with its caves and caverns, near Wells in Somerset. Here you will find a museum and a cathedral unusually large for its setting. Alternatively, heading from Bristol towards Gloucester, the historic and beautiful Berkeley Castle dates back to 1154 and is almost hidden in the Cotswolds. Heading north over the spectacular Severn Bridge, Cardiff Millennium Stadium is only fifteen miles away, or you may wish to explore the beautiful city of Monmouth.
